Early Support at the EEU serves children from birth to 36 months and their families through individualized, relationship-based services. Our approach centers on children’s strengths, family priorities, and everyday routines. We partner with families to support development in ways that are meaningful, culturally responsive, and grounded in play, connection, and belonging.
Early Support services are provided by an interdisciplinary team, including educators, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and family resource coordinators. Together, we collaborate with families to identify supports that work in real-life settings and build caregiver confidence.
We offer services in a variety of locations to meet family needs, including home-based, community-based (such as childcare or parks), and center-based visits. Services may be provided in person or virtually through Zoom, and many families choose a hybrid model to best support their child and schedule.
Early Support at the EEU serves families in the Seattle area through contracts with King County and funding from the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). For direct services provided by therapists, we bill Medicaid/Apple Health and private insurance. A sliding-scale option and family fee are also available. Services are always based on a child’s needs- not a family’s ability to pay. Financial assistance is available; please contact the Family Resource Coordinator for support in navigating options.
Types of Support
Direct and Consultative Services
Our teams offer both direct interaction with children and collaborative coaching with caregivers. Educators and therapists partner with families across home, community, and center-based settings to integrate strategies into daily routines and support participation in meaningful activities.
