The EEU Family Support Program partners with parents and caregivers as they navigate the joyful, challenging, and ever-changing journey of raising young children. Our goal is to build strong relationships, offer timely and relevant information, and ensure families feel confident, connected, and supported. We honor the knowledge families bring, and we recognize that every family arrives with unique strengths, cultures, identities, and lived experiences.
Family Support services are available to all families at the EEU and are designed to reflect the diverse needs, interests, and cultures within our community.
Translation and accessibility supports are available by request, including interpreters, alternative formats (digital, print, large text), and individualized help navigating systems.
Through the Family Support Program, we’re pleased to offer the following variety of services, programs, and resources to all families at the EEU. Services in this program are directed toward caregivers’ needs, covering a variety of topics.
Individual Transition Support & Consultation
Transitions, such as receiving a new diagnosis, qualifying for Special Education services, entering or exiting a program, or moving between services, can bring questions, emotions, and uncertainty. We offer individualized consultation to help families understand options, access resources, and make decisions that reflect their values and priorities. Support is grounded in compassionate listening, respect for family knowledge, and shared problem-solving.
Families can meet with a Family Support Coordinator for one-time conversations or an ongoing partnership, depending on what is most helpful.
Resources & Navigation
A key role of the Family Support Program is helping families access clear, trustworthy information about child development, education pathways, service systems, and community supports. We help families navigate options, reduce barriers, and connect with resources that promote well-being, belonging, and informed decision-making.
Family & Caregiver Connection and Learning
The Haring Center offers family education sessions on topics of interest to caregivers, sometimes featuring guest speakers and community agencies. For accessibility, key information is shared digitally for those unable to attend.
We are excited to continue hosting Coffee and Conversations, offering a welcoming space for families to build relationships, share experiences, and connect around topics relevant to their lives.
